StarTrails II: Reality

[stereo-eyes-ed '3.5D' movie-version rating: PG/13]

story by Mr. Raymond Kenneth Petry, Strategic-Director
a Wision--SesQuaTercet USA production

[screenwrite][music examples][sets, settings, scenes, roles][prospectus][roles]

[science fiction] ... 16 years later the real planet Pluton has been found beyond the edge of our Solar system, and 29-year old Mi-Kee (Michelle-Keela) Thomaine, grown-up long since her 8th grade virtual command aboard her summer-fun ride at the NASA Deep-Space Simulator-Trainor Facility, returns as a qualified NASA captain, albeit pregnant ... and this trip is for real: A month from Earth, in deep-space they rendezvous with Pluton, and begin the search for newEarth and Jehovah's people, or whatever space aliens may be found way-out there. [The concept is that StarTrails II is the reality follow-up to a thorough virtual training]

[The music exampled and specified in the following screenwrite is the Strategic-Director's selection from hundreds of CD's of existing works by artists whose orchestral timbre and lyrics fit each on-screen activity, and is not otherwise representative of project SesQuaTercet and its purposes]

NAV

<loud reports>

Icebergs: dead-ahead!
    <00:05 bloom>
Incoming comet horde: 40-K per hesit: 50 grad and spreading: Focus has excess of one hundred asteroids: ETA: 50 hesits:
<looks up horrific>

NAV RAD is overloaded: We can't dodge this spread!

MI-KEE

Can we jettison propellant manifolds and retreat to the planet?!

NAV

<worries>

Yes, but we'll lose our advantage returning hot: probably melt-down: We can escape in the pods, but then the asteroids hit the city-planet.

MI-KEE

Can you identify any very large asteroids in the lead?

NAV

Two: Each, 2 kilometers across.

MI-KEE

<to sciencer>

Composition?

SCIENCER

<keys>

First laser pulse: Carbonaceous.
Second pulse: Nickel-iron: nearly pure.
Third pulse: Standard nickel-iron with a coating of carbonaceous dust!

HELM

<mouthes>

Wow!

MI-KEE

<orders>

Nav: Track all first-to-arrive masses: Find a clear path to a big iron!
Weapons: Prepare forward torpedoes, full bevy: Target both big irons!
Helm: Steer for the big iron: Take us in close!
Engineer: Bring-up the fission booster!

NAV

<keys>

Tracking compounded selection: Analyses in operation.

ENG

<keys>

Bringing-up fission booster.

WEAP

Torpedoes, first set, locked on the big irons: Ready!

MI-KEE

<orders>

Weapons Officer:
You are now commanded to launch forward nuclear torpedoes!

WEAP

Aye, Captain: Nukes-away:
<keys>

Torpedoes launched, Commander!

MI-KEE

<orders>

Ready another set of torpedoes, Weapons:
Fire when ready!
Navigator: Give me that clear path, now!

Course computed, ready and laid-in, Commander!

WEAP

Torpedoes, third set: Ready.
<keys>

Torpedoes launched!
We're clear, Commander!

HELM

<overlaps mouthes>

Wow!
<aloud>

It's going to be hard to hit scattering plasma-dust.

MI-KEE

Helm: Rotate to about-face!
Nav: Lock-in and initiate a tight bearing for the target big iron mass!
Engineer: Ready to jettison propellant manifold!
    <SHIP BEGINS ABOUT-FACE MANEUVRE>

HELM

Rotating 200 grads.

ENG

<uncovers jettison lock, arms, enables>

Aye: Ready and standing-by for manifold jettison.

MI-KEE

<orders>

Weapons: Ready aft torpedoes!
Helm: Give me your ready!

WEAP

Aft torpedoes: Ready!
    <SHIP ENDS ABOUT-FACE>

HELM

Rotation complete: We are bearing directly for the planet, Commander.

MI-KEE

<orders>

Weapons: Launch aft torpedoes!
Helm: Track for the big iron!
Engineer: Bring-up fission drive to maximum! Keep your finger on that jettison trigger!

ENGINEER

<keys fission-drive>

Fission drive: ramping up.
<poises finger on uncovered jettison trigger>
    <FISSION-DRIVE BUILDS-ROARS concurrently>

WEAP

NAV

We have achieved nominal clearance, Captain:

MI-KEE

<orders>

Helm: Close up distance to big iron!

HELM

Closing.

SCIENCER

The comet cloud flack is striking it on its backside: reaccelerating!

MI-KEE

This is not appearing like God's will: but that can't be missing here.
<orders>

Helm: Keep us tight in front of it!

HELM

Aye: Tight, it is.

NAV

It's spinning, Captain: We can't land on it.

HELM

A shield!
<smiles to Nav>
    <ATMOSPHERIC FIREBALLS ahead>
<to all>

We appear safe for the moment - but, we do not have safe speed, Captain: We're riding shot-gun for this big iron rock.

SCIENCER

Captain: The first fireballs are penetrating the planet atmosphere.

MI-KEE

<labor pain struggles>

Ahhh!

COMM

Captain: Are you all right?!

MI-KEE

<labor pains>

Ahhh!

ENG

Labor pains - she's birthing early - it's the stress!

COMM

It's the false gravity - can we reduce acceleration?

ENG

<balks>

Not on my shift!

NAV

We can't slow further until the goad-flux diminishes!

MI-KEE

<orders>

Commander Stiles: Take the chair!

COMM

Aye, captain:
